Real people, real journeys — all starting from GVIC
Batch of 2010
Ramesh Kumar Yadav
"I come from a family of farmers in a village near Varanasi. My father worked the fields; he had never seen the inside of a college. When I passed Class 10, GVIC offered me a path I could not have imagined. The Hindi teachers here did not just teach the syllabus — they taught me to think, to express myself, and to believe that I had something to offer. Today I teach primary school children in the same area I grew up in. My greatest ambition is to be for my students what GVIC's teachers were for me."
Batch of 2018
Ajay Singh
"Nobody in my family had ever heard of the JEE. But Dr. Suresh Prasad, our Physics teacher, saw something in me that I had not seen in myself. He stayed after hours to help me with problems, gave me extra materials, and simply refused to let me settle for less. GVIC does not have the infrastructure of a city coaching centre — but it has something better: teachers who genuinely care. I cleared JEE and joined IIT Kanpur. When people ask me how, I say: Gram Vidyapeeth Inter College, Varanasi."
Batch of 2014
Priya Mishra
"As a girl from a conservative neighbourhood, getting permission to study at all was a battle. GVIC's co-educational, respectful environment gave my parents the confidence to support my education. The Biology faculty were incredible — patient, thorough, and encouraging. I went on to complete my nursing diploma from BHU and now work at one of Varanasi's largest hospitals. Every time I help a patient, I think of the education that made it possible — and that education began at GVIC."
What Our Alumni Say
Give Back to Your Alma Mater
Your contribution — big or small — helps the next generation of students at Gram Vidyapeeth Inter College access the same transformative education that shaped your life.
Gurudakshina
A pledge of gratitude to your institution
We are pleased to launch the Gurudakshina programme for the students and alumni of Gram Vidyapeeth Inter College.
If you are a final-year student or a recent graduate, you can pledge one month of your first salary — or 1% of your annual profits in business — back to the institution that shaped you. You may choose to fulfil your pledge in your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or any subsequent year after graduation, at your convenience. You will receive a certificate acknowledging your commitment.
If you are an established alumnus, we invite you to contribute one month's salary or 1% of your business profits. Alumni donating a minimum of ₹10,000 will be acknowledged at GVIC's Annual Day function and will receive a framed certificate of appreciation.
Contributions from Gurudakshina will be distributed across the Institute Development Fund, student scholarships, library and laboratory upgrades, and the GVIC Alumni Association.
Make Your Pledge
Every contribution, at every stage of your life, counts.
Sponsor a Student's Education
Many students at GVIC come from families where even the annual fee of ₹2,650 is a genuine hardship. Government scholarships, while helpful, are not always timely or sufficient.
Your sponsorship covers one student's full annual fees — directly and completely. Unlike Gurudakshina, this contribution is restricted: 100% of what you give goes to a specific student's education, not to the general fund.
A ₹2,650 gift sponsors one Arts or Commerce student for a full year. A ₹3,450 gift sponsors one Science student. Multiple sponsorships mean multiple futures changed.
Contribute to Infrastructure
GVIC's facilities have grown steadily over the decades, but there is always more to build, repair, and improve. From library books and laboratory equipment to smart boards, sports equipment, and classroom furniture — every contribution creates something lasting.
Unlike Gurudakshina, infrastructure contributions are restricted to physical assets and facilities. Your gift is earmarked for a specific category — you choose where it goes. Donors contributing ₹25,000 or more will be acknowledged by name on the relevant facility.
Suggested categories:
· Library & Books · Science Lab Equipment
· Digital Classroom · Sports Ground · Classroom Furniture
Secure & Transparent
All contributions are acknowledged in writing by GVIC's Principal.
Tax Benefit
Donations may be eligible for 80G deduction. Certificate provided on request.
