About Us

Gram Vidyapeeth Inter College was established in 1986 in the culturally rich city of Varanasi — the spiritual heart of India and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Founded with a singular mission to bring quality secondary education to the semi-urban and rural communities of Purvanchal, GVIC has grown from a modest beginning into one of the recognised intermediate institutions of Varanasi district.

Affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board), GVIC offers Classes 11 and 12 across three streams — Arts, Science, and Commerce — catering to the diverse aspirations of thousands of students from Varanasi and surrounding districts. Over the decades, our alumni have gone on to serve as teachers, doctors, engineers, government officers, and community leaders, carrying the values instilled here into every corner of the country.

Co-educational from its founding, GVIC has always believed that education must be inclusive. Many of our students are first-generation learners — children of farmers, labourers, and small traders — for whom this institution represents the first step toward a better future. We take immense pride in that responsibility.

Our infrastructure has evolved steadily over the years. Digital classrooms equipped with smart boards, a well-stocked library of over 5,000 volumes, separate science laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and a broad sports ground — these are not luxuries at GVIC, they are our commitment to providing a holistic learning environment to every student regardless of their background.

GVIC has consistently produced district toppers in the UP Board examinations and has been recognised by the district education office for its academic performance and student welfare initiatives. As we look to the future, GVIC remains committed to the same values that have guided it since 1986: excellence, inclusivity, and service to the community of Varanasi and Purvanchal.
